Michael Joseph Gross grew up in Illinois, graduated from Williams College, and studied at Princeton Theological Seminary. After working as a political speech writer, he began writing for newspapers and magazines, and he wrote Starstruck: When A Fan Gets Close to Fame, a book about the gravitational power of celebrity. As a Contributing Editor at Vanity Fair, he has written about technology and national security, business, crime, religion, politics, and culture.  His next book, STRONGER, to be published by Dutton, is about musculoskeletal strength.
